Lurkio in Up Pompeii

A wonderful series, years ahead of its time if you ask me. Frankie Howerd played Lurkio (I think it's the role he's most associated with) in which he talks to the audience, trying to explain 'the prologue' to tonight's story, while being interrupted by characters from the story.

Frankie Howerd's brand of innuendo ('titter ye not') coupled with the style of chatting to both the audience and the other players (who all ignore the audience) made Up Pompeii quite unusual and very good.
