Lister on Red Dwarf

Perhaps the phrase 'smeg' was in common usage before it was adopted by Red Dwarf, but it certainly is afterwards. One of those versative words, it gets used in almost every form of speech - "Oh smeg!", "Smegging hell", "What a load of smeg" etc.

What impresses me about Red Dwarf is that the authors Grant and Naylor manage to come up with such imaginative plots based on just a few characters (though the number of characters has exploded with Series 7).
